Photoshop CS3 Restoration and Retouching Bible
Written by YU53P on 16:49 eBook DescriptionYou may be asking why the topics of photo restoration and retouching are being covered together in the same photoshop cs3 ebook. That’s a reasonable question, considering that on the surface the goals of these two processes seem quite different. The goal of restoration with just about anything — old cars, antique furniture, and so on — is to repair and refurbish something until it resembles mint condition. In the case of old photos, the goal is to erase the years and return the photos to what they looked like when they were new.
The goal of retouching, on the other hand, is to take the original image to a higher level by enhancing its positive aspects and reducing or removing the distracting elements. The finished product becomes something more valuable than the original image because of those enhancements.
Though these two goals seem at odds, the truth is many of the same Photoshop tools and techniques are used to achieve both goals. So it doesn’t make sense to discuss one of these subjects without discussing the other. It also doesn’t make sense for you, as a student of Photoshop, to learn to use these tools and techniques for only restoration or retouching. You never know when you may want to try something new. If you take the time to learn everything in this book now, you’ll be ready to handle just about any image editing challenge you’re likely to encounter.

Most InDesign books are written for beginners, and experienced users are frustrated by them. Mastering InDesign for Print Design and Production fulfills the promise of the Mastering series, to provide real-world skills to professionals and students. Like all Mastering books, this one includes:
- A "by pros for pros" approach: The author is an active professional working in the field of graphic arts, layout, and design, writing for professionals who want to improve their skills or learn new skills.
- Real-world examples: Running throughout the text are examples of how the various skills are applied in real scenarios, described throughout the book in the form of examples and case studies from the author's own design and consulting work, as well as interviews with other designers using InDesign on the job.
- Skill-based teaching and hands-on exercises
Although the book has a comprehensive glossary, page one begins right away speaking to the core market—print professionals—in industry terms about industry challenges. This immediately lets experienced InDesign users know the book is about them. The approach is humorous, making the digestion and retention of complicated information easier for the reader through quips, anecdotes, and design- and print-geek humor. But at all times the book is true to its mission: Helping a professional do their job in InDesign without frustration, confusion, or aesthetic compromise.

eBOOK Description
Working smart isn't just about shortcuts. It involves looking at your entire workflow holistically, paying attention to everything from the hardware you use to your day-to-day work habits. This free ebook is divided into four major parts, and each part addresses a different aspect of working smart:
Part I: Making Photoshop Your Own.
Part II: Saving Time While You Work.
Part III: Processing Images Automatically.
Part IV: Making Photoshop a Great Team Player.
Photoshop is both wide and deep. Many Photoshop ebooks attempt to cover all areas of Photoshop in some detail. Other ebooks focus on specific areas of Photoshop, such as compositing or color correction. This free ebook doesn't fall squarely into either of those categories; instead, in this free ebook I look at one aspect of the Photoshop workflowefficiencyand how it works across the entire program. I hope you find this free ebook to be successful in that way.
